Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao plans to to delay his homecoming following his controversial victory over Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez last Saturday.
He was expected to fly back to the Philippines this week.
Pacquiao, however, is considering postponing his flight home to the weekend to give himself time to recuperate from the bruises and cuts he received from Marquez.
His most serious injury is a cut in his right eyebrow that required 28 stitches.
He sustained the cut after accidentally clashing heads with Marquez.
“Ayos lang, pinapagaling yung sugat,” said Pacquiao.
The Marquez fight counts as one of his most intense bouts in recent years.
Pacquiao fought Marquez in 12 close rounds and got a majority decision over the gritty Mexican challenger.
Many boxing analysts have questioned the majority decision, saying they would have given the fight to Marquez.
